There's two types of captions you can go for:
Closed captioning - a technique of displaying captioned text only when it is desired. This allows hard-of-hearing people, or those in a noisy environment, to follow the dialogue of a programme or film. Only those with a closed caption box can view them.
Open captioning are seen by all viewers. Open captions are not decoded by the TV set, but are a part of the video itself. So, you get more control over the location, size, colour, font, and timing of the captions
